Quick Reference

Cracherode assembled a library of about 4,500 volumes, particularly strong in early editions of the classics. He greatly valued fine bindings; a number of his books were rebound by R. Payne. Virtually his entire library was bequeathed to the British Museum, of which he had been a Trustee.
