Quick Reference

A game played with two dice. A roll totalling 2, 3, or 12 is a loss. A total of 7 or 11 is a win. If any other total (t, say) is obtained then the dice are rolled repeatedly until either another total of t is obtained (win), or a 7 is obtained (lose). The probability of a win is 244/495 ≈ 0.493, very close to but (for a betting person) worryingly less than a half.
