crazy golf

Quick Reference

A form of entertainment popular at seaside locations and attractions in which the golf club known as the putter is used to strike an orthodox golf ball, but along hazardous obstacle-strewn routes laid out in mini-walled routes towards the hole into which the ball must be struck. It is a game of fun and random luck, rather than controlled skill, but this has not prevented the formation of a world Minigolf Sport Federation, which organizes world championships for different classes (in adventure golf as well as crazy golf), subscribes to the international association of world sport federations, and adheres to the principles of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). This level of organization for such an activity is either evidence of the limitless potential of sport tourism, or an index of the triumph of bureaucratic logic in the contemporary world.
