Partnerships established by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, between the police, local authorities, probation service, health authorities, the voluntary sector, and local residents and businesses. The Act also places new obligations on local authorities, the police, police authorities, health authorities, and probation committees (amongst others) to cooperate in the development and implementation of a strategy for tackling crime and disorder in their area.
