The Highland fairy cattle or sea cattle, thought to inhabit fresh and salt water on the west coast of Scotland. They are less dangerous than the each uisce. Hornless, they are generally of dun colour; those near Skye may be red and speckled but described as black. The bulls of the crodh mara may mate with mortal cows and will improve the stock.
