If a topic, activity, skill, responsibility, or initiative is applied not just to one subject but across the curriculum as a whole, it is described as ‘cross‐curricular’. For example, in schools, literacy is a cross‐curricular issue, relevant to, and embedded in, every subject. A literacy coordinator, therefore, has a cross‐curricular responsibility.
