Crustal Dynamics Project

Quick Reference

An international programme to measure motion within the Earth's crust. Established by NASA in 1979, the CDP has used satellites to collect data about tectonic motions of the Earth's plates in North America, Europe, Australia, and elsewhere. Of special interest to the CDP and its international partners has been the effect of earthquakes and other geophysical phenomena on crustal dynamics.

Subjects: Astronomy and Astrophysics.
