[Ir., wood of the holly tree].
A magical figure in the Fenian Cycle. He is ‘lord’ or ‘king’ of a fairy mound or sídh at Sliab Cuilinn [Slieve Gullion] in Co. Armagh. When Fionn mac Cumhaill has been transformed into a feeble old man by taking a bath in a nearby lake, Cuilenn restores him and a colleague, Mac Reithe, with a drink from a golden cup that disappears as soon as the drink is finished. According to some stories, Fionn's supernatural knowledge comes from this drink. His daughters are Áine (2) and Milucra.
