The fruit of tropical trees Annona spp. Cherimoya or true custard apple is A. cherimola, sugar apple or sweet sop is A. squamosa; atemoya is a hybrid of these. Sour sop or guanábana, A. muricata, has white fibrous flesh and is less sweet than the others; the fruit may weigh up to 4 kg (8 lb). The bullock's heart (A. reticulata) has buff-coloured flesh. Others include ilama (A. diversifolia), soncoya (A. purpurea), poshte (A. scleroderma), and the wild custard apple (A. senegalensis).
