Prince of Pengwern in Powys, late 6th and early 7th centuries, who is the subject of Canu Heledd [The Song of Heledd], the anonymous ninth cycle of poems once attributed to Llywarch Hen. The speaker in the surviving poems is Heledd, thought to be Cynddylan's sister; often she laments Cynddylan's great hall, formerly filled with life, now ruined and empty.
