Son of Cadell, probably inherited on the death of his father in 808. He erected a monumental pillar near Llangollen (still extant) to his great-grandfather, Elisedd, said to have checked the English advance c.725. He died in 854 at Rome on a pilgrimage, according to Annales Cambriae.
