A receptor (mammalian disabled) for reelin that is required for layering of neurons in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum. Mutations in murine homologue are responsible for various behavioural changes (‘scrambler’ and ‘yotari’ mutants). DAB1 is a phosphoprotein (588 aa) that binds nonreceptor tyrosine kinases and interacts with lipoprotein receptor-related protein-8 (see LDL-receptor).
