[Ir. Dál Cais]. Cycle of narratives from medieval Ireland centring on Brian Bórama (Boru) and his son Murchad of the Dál Cais (or Dál gCais). The name for this small cycle, a subdivision of the Cycle of the Kings, was coined by Alan Bruford, although the anglicization ‘Dalcassian’, referring to the area around the Shannon estuary and to the O'Brien family, is much older.
