Australian dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director. She studied classical ballet locally and modern dance both at the Folkwang School, Essen, and with Nikolais, before dancing with the Ballet der Lage Landen (1958–9) then in the Dutch and Australian productions of My Fair Lady. In 1964 she opened her own school in Adelaide, from which developed the Australian Dance Theatre in 1965. She was director and choreographer of the company until 1975 after which she taught extensively in New York, the Netherlands, and Australia. In 1990 she founded Mirramu Creative Arts Centre in New South Wales, for which she created several site-specific works including a dance drama event on the shores of Lake George, Canberra in 1999.
