A centre for the analysis of movement, primarily concerned with Labanotation, which was founded in New York in 1940. It offers a research library and training programmes as well as aid to dance professionals in the notation and reconstruction of dance works. Currently it is in the process of developing an extensive database and digitizing its collection of dance scores by e.g. Forsythe and Balanchine.
