Romanian dancer and choreographer. He studied with Kniaseff and others and made his debut with the company of Ivan Dubrovin. From 1938 to 1970 he was with Bucharest Opera as principal dancer, becoming ballet master, choreographer, and director of that company. As well as staging the classics he created many works in an epic dramatic style. In 1979 he founded and directed Fantasio, the first independent Romanian ballet company.
