A genus of heath-like shrubs found in semi-arid regions on heaths of low fertility. The shrubs are prostrate to upright in form, with small, crowded leaves, and small flowers with a conspicuous pistil which in some species is surrounded by coloured bracts. There are 23 species, endemic (see endemism) to Australia.
