The use of the Internet to buy and sell shares using online stockbrokers. The term is usually applied to the process of buying stocks and shares over a short period, sometimes less than a day. A number of online brokers provide facilities for day trading and there are a number of software packages that provide the day trader with enough information about share prices and movements to enable them to make informed decisions about buying or selling.
