Quick Reference

A short-term anaerobic test performed to exhaustion on a bicycle ergometer at a constant workload of 400 W and pedal speed of 124–128 rev min−1 for males, and at a work load of 350 W and pedal speed of 104–108 rev min−1 for females. An index derived from dividing the total time the subject can maintain the required speed (known as total time) by the time taken to reach the required pedal speed (known as the delay time) is used to evaluate anaerobic tolerance and performance.
