An injury incurred when a moving person stops suddenly (e.g. when a polevaulter lands, an ice hockey player collides with a sidewall, and when a concussed boxer falls onto the boxing ring floor). These injuries can be very traumatic because even in an unrestrained fall from standing height, the head can strike the floor with a force exceeding 300 g.
