Goods sold that are not of satisfactory quality and are therefore in breach of the implied term under s 14 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979. If the goods are dangerous it is also a criminal offence under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and the General Product Safety Regulations 1994 (SI 1994/2328). Action may also lie in tort against the seller in contract or the manufacturer in negligence. See also product liability.
