The name given to the group of Dutch painters who worked in Delft in the second half of the 17th century. A number of them, including Gerrit Houckgeest, Hendrick van Vliet, and Emmanuel de Witte, concentrated on architectural interiors, often based on Delft churches. Others specialized in genre scenes and included Carel Fabritius, Pieter de Hooch, and Jan Vermeer.
