Quick Reference

The homologues (DLL1, 3, 4) of the Drosophila protein delta which is a ligand for notch. DLLs, like jagged, are processed by a presenilin-dependent intramembranous γ-secretase to generate soluble intracellular derivatives. Mutations in DLL3 are associated with autosomal recessive spondylocostal dysostosis. DLL4-mediated notch signalling is largely restricted to the vascular compartment.
