Quick Reference

An offence under the Criminal Damage Act 1971 which goes further than damage. In practical terms it is unnecessary as it is not possible to destroy something without damaging it. A defendant would not be charged with ‘destroying property’ as it would leave open an argument that he intended only to damage it.

Subjects: Law.
