Fr. woodwind player (fl., ob., and bn.) and composer. Played bn. in Paris Opéra orch. 1779, later in Loge Olympique. Soloist (fl. and bn.) at Concert Spirituel 18 times, 1782–5. Prof. at newly‐founded Paris Cons. 1795. Comp. many works for fl. and wrote a method for it (1794). Also comp. 11 operas and much chamber mus.
