Quick Reference

A partially reflecting mirror that also transmits some light. Such mirrors are produced by the deposition of thin films of materials which reflect particular colours and transmit others by interference. A typical dichroic mirror may transmit blue light and reflect yellow light, for example. Nebula filters are produced by the same process.
