(Walton: Troilus and Cressida). Bar. The Greek Prince of Argos, in love with the Trojan Cressida. Thinking Troilus has deserted her, Cressida agrees to marry Diomede. When Troilus returns, he and Diomede fight, and Troilus is stabbed in the back by Calkas, Cressida's father. Diomede insists that Cressida remain in the camp for the pleasure of the Greek soldiers. Created (1954) by Otakar Kraus.
