An order made under the Criminal Justice and Courts Services Act 2000 which gives a sentencing court a power to disqualify an offender from working or applying for work with children. The offender must have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence committed against a child and been sentenced to twelve months' or more imprisonment. These orders should not be confused with restraining orders issued under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
