Irish choreographer and founder of Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre. He trained at the Central School of Ballet in London and choreographed for theatre, opera, and film before founding Fabulous Beast in 1997. He has written and choreographed a number of innovative dance-theatre productions, including The Flowerbed (2000), loosely based on Romeo and Juliet; Giselle (2003), a retelling of the 19th-century ballet; The Bull (2005), based on an ancient Irish epic The Táin; and James Son of James (2007), a satire of a society in transition. In 2009 he choreographed a version of Rite of Spring, commissioned by English National Opera.
