Quick Reference
A hypothetical two-dimensional defect in the structure of spacetime, produced in some models of the early Universe. In essence, it is a wall-like structure in which energy is trapped. A theory of particle physics that predicts large numbers of domain walls would also predict a highly inhomogeneous Universe, contrary to observations.
