Foster-father of Conaire Mór and a champion hunterwarrior (see FIANNA). His three sons, Fer Lé, Fer Gair [near/ convenient man (?)], and Fer Rogain [choice man (?)], thus became the foster-brothers of Conaire, who banished them from Ireland when they began marauding the countryside. Abroad they joined forces with Ingcél Cáech, a fearsome British pirate. Later, they invaded Ireland to attack Conaire; see TOGAIL BRUIDNE DA DERGA [The Destruction of Da Derga's Hostel]. Another son of Donn Désa was Rumal, an early Lagin king, the first to rule between the Boyne and Tolka rivers.
