US dancer, choreographer, and director. He trained with Nagrin and at Connecticut College and danced with various companies including Kei Takei's Moving Earth and Susan Marshall. He founded his own company in 1985 for which he has choreographed many works, including Desired Effect (mus. Froot, 1990), A Cure for Gravity (mus. Joe Jackson, 1997), See Level (mus. Chris Peck, 2003), and Underground (mus. Jonathan Bepter, 2006). His style is fast, acrobatic, and imagistic, sometimes combining text with dance as in Sleep Story (1987) and Gone Right Back (mus. Elaine Buckholtz, Shannon McGuire, and Dorfman, 1997). The company tours extensively in N. and S. America and Europe. He has also created work for other companies, including Diversions Dance Company, Balletethnic Dance Company, and Uppercut Dance Theatre and has directed community dance projects.
