Drosophila immune peptides

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

Antimicrobial peptides produced by Drosophila in response to infections. Drosomycin, a potent antifungal agent, is synthesized under the control of Toll, a gene that also functions during embryo genesis to establish the dorso-ventral axis. The Dpt gene controls the synthesis of Diptericin, another antibacterial agent. See Chronology, 1996, Lemaitre et al.
