Quick Reference

A surgical procedure for treating recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder. During the procedure, large metal staples are placed through a longitudinal splint in the subscapularis to reattach the capsule to the anterior glenoid neck. Because of the risk of arthrosis if the staples are not inserted properly, most surgeons avoid this procedure.
