(c. 1563—1633) book collector

Quick Reference

His large library of English books included several complete sets of Elizabethan proclamations. It passed into the hands of Richard Smith, and was dispersed at auction in 1682. A catalogue of his library survives at All Souls College, Oxford (MS 117). His books can be recognised by the boldly written signature ‘Hum: Dyson’ on the title-page.
