British dancer, choreographer, and director. He studied at the Royal Ballet School and danced with Royal Ballet (1964–8). He was then assistant ballet master and choreographer with Ballet for All, leaving in 1971 to work freelance, including teaching at London School of Contemporary Dance, and in 1976 to become co-founder of the X6 dance collective, a London-based focus of independent dance activity. He choreographed several works during this period including Naples (mus. Paulli, Helsted, and Gade, 1978 for X6, revived 1982 for Extemporary Dance Theatre) then in 1987 founded the community dance group Green Candle for which he has since choreographed and directed many works.
