Is about professional agencies working together to respond to the additional needs of pre‐school or school age children without delay. These needs may be due factors within the child, e.g. disability, or situations surrounding the child and their family, e.g. social issues. For every child identified as requiring multi‐agency support, a lead professional should be allocated to take responsibility for co‐coordination. Early intervention may be directly focused on the child in the form, for example, of support from a specialist pre‐school teacher, or it may involve professionals working together to address issues surrounding the child.
