Quick Reference

An exercise often used in cool-down routines.

▪ Lie face down on the floor with your legs and feet extended. Bend your arms and place the palms of your hands on the floor at the side of your hips. Keeping your palms fixed on the floor, slowly and smoothly push upwards and backwards, first to a high kneeling position and then to a low kneeling position resembling that adopted by people praying towards Mecca. Your head should be tucked well into your body and your buttocks should be touching your heels. Hold for a few seconds and then slowly return in the opposite direction to the start position. Repeat three to five times.
