1 The Parliamentary Commission set up in 1830 recommended the replacement of the Court of Delegates by the Privy Council as the final court of appeal in ecclesiastical matters. As a result the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council was formed in 1833.
2 Another Parliamentary Commission was appointed in 1881, with the immediate object of finding a better way to deal with the ritual controversies. In 1883 it recommended a radical revision of the courts. No legislation followed.
