Mythological Greece: Egisto and Clori, Lidio and Climene, are two pairs of lovers captured by pirates and separated. Egisto and Climene have escaped their captors and set out to find their lovers. But Clori and Lidio have fallen in love with each other. Climene cannot bring herself to kill Lidio and asks that she should die instead. Moved by her request, Lidio falls in love with her again. Clori is sorry for Egisto, who has gone mad, and returns to him.
