The main radar transmitters are located near Tromsø in Norway and Longyearbyen on Svalbard (Spitzbergen). Receiving sites are near Kiruna in Sweden, and Sodankylä in Finland. The EISCAT Scientific Association also cooperates with other installations, such as CUTLASS, to carry out experiments in high-latitude, ionospheric plasma physics.
