A requirement as part of a youth community order for securing the electronic monitoring of the offender's compliance with any other requirements imposed by the order, under s 36B of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentences) Act 2000 (as amended by the Criminal Justice Act 2003). Section 177(3) of the 2003 Act requires a court which imposes a curfew requirement or exclusion requirement on an adult offender also to impose an electronic monitoring requirement (as defined by s 215 of the 2003 Act) unless it is either impracticable or inappropriate in the particular circumstances of the case to do so.
