(b 1713; d 1781). American cabinetmaker whose workshop in Philadelphia specialized in mirrors, notably fretwork mirrors but also carved mirrors in the Chippendale style. On his retirement in 1776 the business passed to Elliott's son John Elliott (1739-1810), who also manufactured and imported mirrors.
