Daughter and son-in-law of M. Rambert, both of them British dancers and teachers. She studied with Rambert, Volkova, V. Gsovsky, and Craske. He studied with Rambert, Volkova, and V. Gsovsky. Both danced with Ballet Rambert (she 1943–7 and he from 1946) and he was its associate director until 1966. They formed London Ballet Workshop together in 1951 to give choreographers, composers, and designers opportunities to experiment together. She went on to direct Rambert School, he became director of the Mercury Theatre Trust until he returned to medical research.
