The commonly used name for the Church of England Assembly (Powers) Act 1919. It gave the Church Assembly power to prepare ecclesiastical measures and, after they were approved by an Ecclesiastical Commission of both Houses of Parliament, present them to Parliament which could accept or reject (but not amend) them. It also gave legal status to Parochial Church Councils.
