Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A family of proteins with a BAR domain involved in regulating clathrin-mediated endocytosis during synaptic vesicle recycling. Endophilin I (352 aa) is involved in the recruitment of synaptojanin and dynamin-binding proteins to the membrane through their interaction with endophilin's SH3 domain. Endophilin B1 (365 aa) is required for the maintenance of normal mitochondrial morphology. The enzymatic (LPAAT) activity reported for endophilin was due to contamination.
