epitope library

Quick Reference

A large set of peptides, potential epitopes, that can be used to identify epitopes on a protein. The phage display library method involves inserting randomly mutated DNA into a phage (a genomic library) in such a way that the products are expressed in a chimeric phage surface protein. By sequencing the phages that bind to the antibody the peptide sequence of the epitope can be deduced.
