A small molecule (832 Da) that reversibly inhibits platelet aggregation by preventing the binding of fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor, and other ligands to GP IIb/IIIa. It is a cyclic heptapeptide containing six amino acids and one mercaptopropionyl (desaminocysteinyl) residue. It is used clinically to treat patients with acute coronary syndrome and those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). TN Integrilin.
