Quick Reference

The difference between the position of an object at 0° declination when on the horizon of an observer at the equator, and the position in which the object would be seen from the centre of the Earth. It is thus the parallactic displacement corresponding to a distance equal to the equatorial radius of the Earth. See also Horizontal Parallax.
