Called also the Rhymer and Learmont (fl. ?1220–?97), seer and poet, is said to have predicted the death of Alexander III, king of Scotland, and the battle of Bannockburn, and is the traditional source of many (fabricated) oracles. He is the reputed author of a poem on the Tristram story, which Sir W. Scott considered genuine.
